The YWCA meets the TWP ~ Embracing Possibilities

Aug. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Ilene Harnch-Grady, Encore Program Director, YWCA Health & Wellness Director looks forward to working with TWP Founders Patty Mellon and Sherri Ziomek, both breast cancer survivors, to support and strengthen the YWCA Encore/TWP programs.

The YWCA Encore program is a free session based program designed specifically for those who have experienced breast cancer at any time in their lives. Incorporating gentle exercises, relaxation techniques, information and peer group support, it is safe, fun and therapeutic. The land exercise program is specially designed to target areas that have been affected by breast cancer surgery and treatment. Gentle, but effective exercises improve strength, mobility and flexibility while the warm water aquatic program relieves affected muscles. The peer group support sessions provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Participation is free.  No membership required.

The Tough Warrior Princesses, an Amesbury based nonprofit group, are committed to raising funds for breast cancer research, educating and enlightening the public on the need to find a cure, and providing support to local women and their families impacted by cancer. They have provided survivor packages, which includes gas gift certificates, grocery cards, along with small gifts of comfort to affected women and their families. http://www.toughwarriorprincess.com/

Together, both groups hope to get the word out and broaden their reach to local women that need assistance.
