Follow on Google News | WEEKLY SPORT red top backs ISP internet porn filtering on news siteThe UK government is to consult on tough measures to protect children from internet pornography.
By: INDEPENDENT NEWS LIMITED Under plans being draw up by Downing Street, it would be up to customers to "opt in" to receive adult content online when they take out a broadband contract. Campaigners, including the digital WEEKLY SPORT news tabloid, have all argued it is far too easy for children to access explicit adult content on their phones, computers and certain newspaper websites. Says WEEKLY SPORT publisher and campaigner, Duncan Williams ; "In tandem with a current need for ethical 'streamlining' within our media, we must also revise attitudes toward porn affiliated content." The WEEKLY SPORT has taken a bold stand, challenging the traditional tabloid fare and offering up quality sporting news, for free, online. But will UK web consumers back a family protection policy? Under these new proposals, internet service providers (ISPs) will be forced to ask customers if they wish to access sites when they sign up for broadband. David Cameron is due to meet large ISPs to discuss the measures but he is understood to be against tougher controls on internet porn. Backbencher Claire Perry, another campaigner, has accused internet companies of being "complicit" in exposing children to pornography. She said ISPs had been "dragging their feet" on reforming the way explicit material is accessed online. With the Leveson Inquiry's stark examination of the powerful effect media has upon shaping our society, a revisionist WEEKLY SPORT tabloid, suitable for all the family, might be just what both the consumer and marketplace are looking for. ==== Find us on fb at : http://www.facebook.com/ http://www.weeklysport.co.uk End
