Detailed Results From Marshall Barnes' Race With Ron Mallett For 1st Time Machine, On The Way

Marshall Barnes has released a preliminary rundown of the results from his initial experimental tests of his Verdrehung Fan(TM) which is his alternative device to UConn's Ronald Mallett ring laser design, in the race to build the first time machine.

Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Marshall Barnes is announcing results of his experiments with the Verdrehung Fan(™), torsion device that could become the world's first time machine in a race with UConn's Ronald Mallett. August 20th, 2012 Marshall announced he had successfully completed a series of experiments to test the idea that the STDTS(™) field would accelerate the rotation of a fan by contracting the space that the fan blades move through, as they move through it.

Marshall first announced his intentions to build a device on May 23 http://www.prlog.org/11882630-marshall-barnes-rd-eng-to-test-alternative-to-uconns-ronald-mallett-time-machine.html . On August 20, he announced initial results of his testing the device had been successful and met the minimum standards for having a first step toward time manipulation http://www.prlog.org/11954118-uconns-mallett-challenged-by-marshall-barnes-in-race-for-1st-time-machine.html . Ronald Mallett set the standard by announcing that his device, if successful, would cause a neutron to rotate around inside the vortex created by his rotating ring laser contraption.

Here is a listing of press brief results to come, that will address separate aspects of the experiments and convey what the results mean.

Acceleration: The entire basis for the claim that a rotating fan could be turned into a torsion machine which could then effect space and time, is predicated upon the idea that the introduction of the STDTS(™) signal to a metal fan in such a way that the fan axel and blades become enveloped in the STDTS(™) field which is produced when the STDTS(™) signal is applied to metal, would result in an area of continuing contracting, rotating space. Such an area would likely become the first step toward creating closed time-like curves. Acceleration was in fact observed and registered using a process similar to a mechanic using a timing light on an engine.

Space Contraction: Questions immediately were raised about this hypothetical condition. Once the experiment was conducted, they were answered upon analysis of the results. Of note, there was the previous idea of an area of space being contracted to "zero percent" quickly and then going into negative space, and what that would even mean. Experimental data convincingly resolved this issue in a way consistent with the configuration of the Verdrehung Fan(™), General Relativity and Newtonian mechanics.

Photon Effects: The initial thinking was that a way to determine if an area of space was being effected by the STDTS(™) field was to use light as a measuring tool. If space was being effected, then light should be effected as well. There was evidence of light being effected two different ways. This matches the base set by Ronald Mallett for his time machine design, which was to include a neutron placed within an apparatus that would twist space and eventually time. The neutron particle would be observed to see if it began to spin around inside the rotating laser ring of his design. In the case of Verdrehung Fan(™), not a single photon, but streams of them, were observed to be effected in various aspects having to do with reflection and the lack thereof .

Electron Effects: Exceeding the base standard for the Mallett design, was another tier of experiment, this designed to see the effect of the Verdrehun Fan(™) on another type of particle - electrons. In this case, a video was transmitted through the effected space of the Verdrehung Fan(™)  and a monitor attached to a receiver was watched to see if the reception was altered in any way. Once the return signal coming through the Verdrehung Fan(™) was isolated, it was found to appear to be "shredded" by the device, indicating severe interference and loss of signal. This did not happen when the Verdrehung Fan(TM) was not energized with the STDTS(TM) field.

All of this information is significant because these effects occurred at low power outputs of around 50 watts. The available power that could be used exceeds 28,000 watts. In addition, different configurations and multiple devices could be arranged to increase the overall torsion effect on space and time in a specific region. At that magnitude of power, the level of effects would approach what some have been calling, "science fiction level". Thus Marshall is on the fast track to surpassing anything that Mallett expected to achieve any time in the near future. It's Marshall's plan to reach that level by next year.

Marshall, who is a member of the Philosophy of Time Society, has been studying the nature of time as his key area of fundamental research, for over a decade. His intention has been to resolve as many of the mysteries of time as possible, and has done much of that up to the point of being able to describe where time comes from. His work has included classroom experiments, field experiments as well as intense and critical analysis of many of the philosophical ideas about time that many people just take for granted. His research has included all aspects of time, ranging from psychological perceptions to the possible effects of electromagnetic fields on the flow of time. He has written papers exposing the flaws in the work and theories of a number of science luminaries ranging from David Eagleman to Kip Thorne, which have stood up to scientific scrutiny. His most famous critical work has been aimed at Stephen Hawking, with whom he won a bet over the discovery of the Higgs Boson particle in July of this year http://www.prlog.org/11914207-higgs-boson-announcement-sh... . Marshall has pointed out that nearly all of his conflicts with Hawking arise over Hawking's misinterpretations over various aspects of the nature of time, and none of Marshall's objections have been found to be wrong. He has scientifically proven why PhD physicists have missed these same mistakes by testing J. Robert Oppenheimer's statement about children having modes of sensory perception that he had lost that would allow them to solve difficult physics problems. In all of the seven experiments that Marshall has conducted, with physics students at the high school level or below, his predictions of a 20% success rate have been met or exceeded. None of his subjects had a background in the level of physics from which the problems they were tasked with, were derived. His greatest success with this, was when four out of seven elementary school age children of the OSU Wexner Medical Center Math and Science Club were able to see a major flaw in the presentation of Stephen Hawking's Mad Scientist Paradox during his Discovery Channel TV special, Into The Universe With Stephen Hawking.

There is also a connection between this research and the thrust of the 2004 Air Force Teleportation Physics Study toward traversable wormholes, of which Marshall conducted the only private sector analysis of in 2005.

These facts, and Marshall's willingness to research beyond the mainstream of physics, into the forgotten ideas of the past, such as Einstein's unfinished Unified Field Theory of electromagnetism and gravity, as well as present advanced concept work of others, has given Marshall the edge when it comes to the subject of possible time travel. In this race with Mallett, he is simply execrcising his right as an inventor/engineer to explore alternative methods and theories, and excercises no opinion on the physical validity of Mallett's claims as others have, beyond the fact that Mallett has no demonstrable device yet, so the claim to the first time machine is an open matter. There are now two TV specials in the works involving this project. One is being prepared for the possibility of being a Travel Channel special and the second is planned for distribution worldwide by Cyclohexane Productions.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the release of additional information on the Verdrehung Fan(TM) will not begin until Labor Day morning. What will follow is a press briefing on each aspect, on a daily basis.
