Isle of Wight top spot for value festivals

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- With the start of Bestival marking the end of another long UK festival season, new research examines  which major UK and European music events offer the most value for money – with the Isle of Wight named the Britain’s best value location.

VoucherCodes.co.uk, the leading shopping and money saving website looked at the cost of seeing the top five headline acts from each festival on their most recent tours and compared it with the cost of a full price weekend ticket.

Hosting two of the UK’s top three value festivals, Isle of Wight Festival and Bestival, the Island was revealed to be the destination offering music lovers the most bang for buck in 2012.

Despite missing out on this year’s top spot to Scotland’s T in the Park, Bestival still offers revellers incredible value for money. Attendees at this weekend’s event, where a ticket costs £180, will save a whopping £262 on the £442 it would cost to see main headliners (Stevie Wonder, Friendly Fires, New Order, The XX and Florence and the Machine) on their individual tours.

Likewise, those who attended the iconic Isle of Wight Festival in June saved a substantial £247 on the price of seeing headline acts including Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Jessie J and Biffy Clyro.
