By: BelieversPress “Path of Life is a feast – an infectious celebration of the joy God has and has created us to experience, even in the hardest of times. Rick Howe sets a rich table with exquisite dishes drawn from Scripture, theology, church history, philosophy, literature and everyday life. The result is an engaging, compelling vision of what life is all about. Savor these words, delight in these truths, and watch God use them to change your life.” David A. Horner, D.Phil., Professor of Philosophy and Biblical Studies, Talbot School of Theology, Biola University Path of Life is an exploration of joy for Christian living. It could also be described as an introduction to Christian faith and life, using joy as a teaching tool, with a special effort to connect with a postmodern world in a relevant and winsome way. Path of Life draws from biblical sources, as well as from theologians and Christian thinkers past and present, to craft a fresh (and yet ancient) vision of life in God’s world. Path of Life agrees with Aquinas’ insight that the person who is "deprived of spiritual joy goes over to carnal pleasures,” and sees its tragic fulfillment the hedonism of our own day. In Path of Life, author and Christian leader Rick Howe seeks to help guide our generation away from its self-centered sensualism and "back over" to joy – which, he believes, is the highest and best of the pleasures of life, and the one pleasure that embraces all of the healthy pleasures of life in an intimate relationship with God. Richard R. Howe (“Rick” to his friends) is the President of Centers for Christian Study International, headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. He is a graduate of Oregon State University, Princeton Theological Seminary and Denver Seminary. Among his joys in life are his wife, Sue, their three children, Amberle, Lorien and Jamison, teaching, writing, leading, working with university students, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains.
