Women's Image Network, (WIN) & The WIN Awards show encourage and applaud media artists who create dimensional female film and television images advancing equal rights, gender equality and dignity. But WIN doesn't simply put on an awards show that applauds excellence, this event serves as powerful advocacy tool. WIN supporters know that until women and girls everywhere are liberated from poverty and injustice, world peace, security, and sustainable development is jeopardized. Since 1993, the non-profit corporation Women's Image Network has produced The WIN Awards to honor outstanding individuals in politics, business, music and the media who promote gender parity through their creativity and leadership. Women's Image Network, (WIN), produces The WIN Awards to thank those who advance opportunities for women by creating dimensional female media images. While The WIN Awards began in 1993 to present awards to outstanding film and television individuals they awards have grown into a juried awards show in which networks and studios submit work on a competition basis. Each year since 1993, in addition to celebrating an illustrious honoree, the film studios, advertising agencies and television networks enter The WIN Awards to compete for a tribute in one of its twelve categories. Moreover, The WIN Awards have previously been chaired by Susan Sarandon, Sid Ganis and Jane Fonda while a few former WIN Award honoree recipients include: Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Senator Barbara Boxer, Lily Tomlin, Lauren Bacall, Jane Campion, Elizabeth Guider, Lynn Redgrave, Diane Ladd, Lauren Shuler Donner, Catherine Hardwicke, Christine Lahti and Gurinder Chadha. Former participants, hosts and presenters include: Selena Gomez, Emille Hirsch, Mickey Rooney, Francis Fisher, Jane Lynch, Carl Reiner, Rachel Weisz, Katy Holmes, Seth Rogen, Emily Mortimer, Sara Rue, Miranda Richardson, Sally Hawkins, Meryl Streep, Lea Thompson, Harry Shearer, Kathy Griffin, Paula Poundstone, Wendy Liebman, Robert Redford, Pierce Brosnan and Mary McDonnell, among many others.
