Sept. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Costa Rica, emigration to a natural paradise

These days people more and more think about living in a quiet, safe country with plenty of sun, beaches and the sea, about buying a small piece of land and start a new life and finally about emigrating. The amount of people who are unhappy with their situation, both economically as well as socially, has increased in the last years. Depressing bad weather, feeling uncomfortable with the increasing pressure of a consumer society make people wonder whether there are other options in life. Quite a few feel a personal drive for freedom and a strong desire for adventures. Others are tired of the rising taxes in Europe and want to emigrate to a tax haven such as Costa Rica.
If you want to start over from scratch only with your savings and some seed money in the pocket, searching for a suitable place where you can realize your dreams, leaving behind everyday stress to live in peace and quiet, Costa Rica might be the right country for it.

The Eco Paradise No.1

The country lies between 8 and 11 North latitude and is therefore located in the tropics. Christopher Columbus who in 1502 called the country Costa Rica (in English: rich coast), indeed made a mistake because he did not find the gold he had hoped for, but Costa Rica´s rich coast anyway offers a nature of an incalculable value. Especially, because the government has realized the importance of taking care of nature early enough and therefore created several protected areas since the 60s. In 2006 the Ministry of Environment got even more power. Today, there is an area that is roughly the size of Lower Saxony, that includes 25 national parks and numerous conservation projects. Nearly a third of the country now is protected - more than in any other country in the world. No wonder then that more and more nature lovers come to Costa Rica.

According to NASA the Costa Rican climate is one of the best in the world. Furthermore, Costa Rica can be called the oldest and most stable democracy in Latin America. In 1948 the army was abolished and since then Costa Rica is one of the world´s few countries without an army.

The small country has mountains with an altitude of up to 4,000 meters, two oceans (Pacific and Atlantic), volcanoes and beautiful natural beaches.

A lot of money with coffee

Between 1930 and 1940 a group of approximately 1.000 German emigrants came to Costa Rica and made a lot of money with the cultivation and trade of coffee. The three most important points for becoming successful are that they brought money and knowledge and were very open-minded towards their new home country and the native people.
The early emigrants could get good conditions for purchasing real estate. Emigrants today still have the possibility to find a heaven like place with friendly people, but nowadays only few manages to make much money in Costa Rica. As mentioned before, the most important requirements are to bring money to start and to know Spanish.

The largest group of emigrants, however, are people who can better live in Costa Rica with their savings or their retirement than in Europe.

Like Tarzan in the jungle

If you now have got an appetite for Costa Rica, book your next vacation to this natural paradise. The Caribbean and Pacific coasts, the active and extinct volcanoes, the fascinating flora and fauna, the mountains and the various protected areas make Costa Rica a real adventure. And maybe you can truly feel like Tarzan in the jungle.
