Follow on Google News | Soprano Othalie Graham to Sing the Role of Turandot With One of Mexico's Leading Opera CompaniesCanadian-American soprano Othalie Graham to sing the role of Turandot in Mexico at the Gran Sala del Teatro de la Ciudad November 9 & 11 2012, crowning a season of international operatic debuts.
By: HKS PR ARTS Gaining acclaim for her interpretation of the role, Graham has garnered exceptional praise from audiences and critics alike. "As Turandot, timbre and power were thrilling - steely ring from top to bottom - and her path from imperiousness to passion was convincing.” Most recently, she was heard at Nashville Opera as Minnie in "La Fanciulla del West" and in Washington, D. C. at The Kennedy Center as soprano soloist in an all Mahler program with the Grammy Award winning Washington Chorus, conducted by Julian Wachner. Prior to leaving the U. S. for rehearsals and performances in Mexico, Ms. Graham will make her Atlanta (GA) debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Verdi's "Requiem" on October 11. Future operatic appearances in the U. S. include the title role in Verdi's "Aida" with Opera Carolina and Toledo Opera. On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 7 p.m. (EST) Ms. Graham will appear as a guest on THE OPERA DIVA SERIES, hosted by Patrick D. McCoy on Blog Talk Radio. Past guests on series include Christine Brewer, Carmen Balthrop, Elizabeth Futral, Angela M. Brown, Nicole Cabell and Sarah Coburn.
