Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Thermal imaging devices were first developed for military purposes, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, they first saw commercial use with the Royal navy to aid ship board fire fighting in the last 1970s then into other military roles.

These early thermal cameras were very bulky, cooled with liquid gas and cost 100's of thousands of pounds but with advances in technology this amazing tech can fit in the palm of your hand, still at a very high cost.

IR Thermal Imaging ltd of Cheshire have been conducting thermal image heat loss surveys for the past 5 years for mainly commercial clients across the UK and in Europe as well.

Level 2 thermographer, thermal imaging surveyor and MD of IR Thermal Imaging ltd Mr Glenn Cunningham said "We've seen a steady rise in domestic inquiries over the years and even more so after the very harsh winters we experienced a few years back, domestic thermal heat loss surveys account for about 50% of our thermal heat loss business and I think this will be even more as people realise that using our domestic thermal imaging surveys to help reduce heat loss is a very cost effective method, this coming heat loss survey season may see us employing more thermographers to cope with domestic demand".

Mr Cunningham went on to add, "We only conduct full heat loss surveys, meaning that we don't just take external imaging of a building as many if not most heat loss problems will not be solved with this type of basic service, we have other equipment that can reveal building defects that are easily missed if not used, we also use the best thermal cameras on the market and this make all the difference  when conducting effective thermal heat loss surveys".

All our thermal surveys are conducted above and beyond BS EN 13187, (Thermal performance of buildings. Qualitative detection of thermal irregularities in building envelopes. Infrared method) as they utilise other types of building tests within the same survey.

All surveyors are PNC level 2 & 3 certified thermographers using the highest specification thermal imaging cameras available at 640x480 resolution at .3mk thermal sensitivity. The PCN certification scheme is recognised in the UK and Europe and complies with the requirements of international standard ISO 1843

IR Thermal Imaging ltd provide other thermal imaging services in the fields of electrical, flat roof leak detection, insulation surveys, underfloor heating system leaks, delamination, solar panel, aerial photography, data centres, cold rooms and IRT thermography training to level 1 to 3.
