Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Working with Melbourne club promoter Sammy Prosser since December 2011, Hal Davidson flew from his Maryland, USA base to Byron Bay, Australia earlier this year to perform the due diligence for Sammy's promotions company ZiggyT LTD.

Living in a polynesian style rental suite, Davidson started his rounds inspecting venues such as Belongil Fields which made famous Splendour In The Grass and The Byron Bay Bluesfest.

After recruiting Rob Doolan of Balanced Systems to gather other consultants needed for an expensive "DA" Developmental Application process, it was discovered that surprisingly, the last thing Byron Bay's Green Council wanted was another festival. "The world does not realize how anti-festival this town's government truly is. People think because of Bluesfest and Splendour, that its a festival town. Wrong." Hal said.

Both legendary fests have purchased large land tracts and have pitched a protracted legal battle to finally obtain permission to promote their events out of town, but within enough proximity to still call their event's locations "Byron Bay".

Davidson, experienced and flexible, immediately searched for suitable sites outside the grasp of the evil Bryon Council. With Doolan's help, he found a 100 yr. old horse racetrack and the cooperative town of Ballina, just 25 minutes down the road from Byron. "And that's where the regional airport is, so to go to Byron you'd have to land in Ballina anyway." Hal said. Then Davidson and Doolan found that the airport had 70 open acres to camp the festival attendees, less than 2 miles from the track. "We'll use a bus system to commute the audience from the airport and Byron Bay." Davidson figured.

A deal was struck with the Ballina Jockey Club which wants the event. "Craig, the GM there is a real cooperative guy." Hal said.

After 3 months of daily detailed operational research and planning, Hal said "One Summer Music festival is the only event of its kind, merging the already existing Schoolies crowds with a much needed music festival loaded with activities and beach parties. The 40-acre Ballina Beach Club is the site of the two weekend spectacular featuring major bands, electro, DJs and surf camp packages targeting 18-25 yr. olds in New South Wales and Victoria.

Davidson returned to the U.S. in mid-summer to work on upcoming festivals for 2013. Through his festival promotion book site www.concert-promotions.com and his consulting site www.rentapromoter.com, Davidson assists other promoters in need of the kind of experience and detailed knowledge of every aspect of promoting concerts and music festivals, that is hard to find.
