(Palm Beach, FL – November 5, 2012)  The Colony Hotel - which The Palm Beach Post has hailed as “probably the best place for cabaret on the planet” – continues to cement its position as the “Palm Beach Home of the Great American Songbook” by presenting live music nightly (Tuesdays through Saturdays) in its popular restaurant and lounge, Polo Steaks & Seafood.

“While our 2012-2013 cabaret season in the hotel’s celebrated Royal Room promises to be bigger and better than ever with such headliners as Christine Ebersole, Clint Holes, Marilyn Maye, Faith Prince, Steve Tyrell, The Four Freshman and Avery Sommers, our musical offering in Polo Steaks & Seafood is just as joyous and equally impressive,” says Roger Everingham, Vice President & General Manager of Palm Beach’s favorite boutique hotel.

Polo Presents Tommy Mitchell Tuesdays through Thursdays:

Singer and piano player Tommy Mitchell may be best known for his distinguished credit as lead singer of the legendary rock group Blood Sweat and Tears. His style ranges from 70s rock to show tunes, from soulful to spitfire, as he belts hits from Frank Sinatra to Journey with a little Cats and Phantom of the Opera thrown in as well. Now a resident of Jupiter, Tommy Mitchell was a successful jingle writer and arranger whose voice has been heard on hundreds of national TV and Radio commercials such as AT&T Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Toyota. His productions have included working with Michael Bolton, Leon Russell, Irene Cara, and Patti Austin, and he has performed on stage with Darlene Love, Phoebe Snow, Ben E. King and Paul Shaffer. Tommy Mitchell performs Tuesdays through Thursdays in Polo, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Polo Presents Motown Friday Nights with Memory Lane

Friday nights have become Motown nights at The Colony with the soul-stirring sounds of Memory Lane in Polo from 9:30 p.m. to closing.  It is music from the Temptations, the Supremes, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye -- all the Motown favorites from the 60s to the 80s – and it is bringing the house down every week.  People are dancing, singing, rocking away -- right here in Palm Beach.

Polo Presents Rob Russell’s Cast Party & the Dynamic Mel Urban Trio with Charmaine on Saturdays

Offering a bouncy, upbeat mixture of good times and great music by long-time Palm Beach favorites, the Mel Urban Trio with Charmaine, who gets people movin' and groovin' every Saturday night.  Even more exciting, the big name cabaret stars appearing in the Royal Room and other local theaters will frequently stop by – all under the direction of The Colony’s master showman Rob Russell, the hotel’s charming entertainment director.
