Industrial temperature 3G mini PCIe card launched

Dec. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- With the growing number of remote applications which can benefit from having wireless M2M cellular connectivity – such as wireless CCTV, diagnostic or monitoring equipment and kiosk displays, the EHS5 mini PCIe card provides integrators with an industrialised version of the consumer grade, short life cycle devices often used in tablet PC’s.

With its convenient miniPCIe connector system, EHS5 miniPCIe is an easy to integrate data modem card, designed to add cost efficient 3G wireless connectivity to industrial systems. Utilising the Cinterion EHS5 module and the standard PCI Express mini card form factor, the solution provides a double dual-band 3G and 2.5G support enabling geographic optimised internet access and cloud based services for intelligent systems with x86 architecture.

With an extended temperature range from -40˚C to 85˚C, the Cinterion EHS5 miniPCIe is reliable in extreme environments for use outdoors or inside at sites that lack cooling and heating systems. Measuring just 50x30x4.8mm, the EHS5 mini PCIe card provides simple plug in integration via the standard 52 pin PCIe connector and works with built in Windows and Linux modem drivers. An optional micro SIM card (3FF) holder allows easy replacement of WiFi miniPCIe cards to transform existing applications into cellular based smart solutions capable of operation in any place with cellular coverage.
