Bella Bridesmaid provides 200 prom dresses to Enchanted Closet

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The Enchanted Closet is kicking off its 10th Anniversary and 11th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway season with a generous donation of 200 dresses by Bella Bridesmaid. The donated dresses will be made available at the Enchanted Closet 11th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway events starting in March.

“Bella Bridesmaid has been a valued community partner to the Enchanted Closet. We greatly appreciate their support of our mission and helping us to enchant the lives of many metro Atlanta girls,” said Bonita Johnson, Enchanted Closet President and CEO. “Unfortunately, due to the depressed economy, there is still a great need for dresses, especially in sizes 12 and up. The Enchanted Closet needs to collect more donations to help serve those disadvantaged girls. Additionally, we need individuals and businesses, especially businesses on the south side of Atlanta, to help us with collecting donated items by serving as drop-off locations.”  

Bella Bridesmaid was created in May 2000 in San Francisco in response to an overwhelming need for stylish, wearable and chic bridesmaid dresses. The shop offered a departure from the typical bridesmaid dress experience – fresh, modern dresses and personal service in an upscale, approachable and one-on-one environment. The company began franchising in May 2006. There are presently 43 locally owned and operated Bella Bridesmaid stores in the U.S., including one location in Atlanta. The Enchanted Closet’s Prom Dress Giveaway began in 2003 as a community service project to provide prom dresses to teenage girls whose families were financially challenged. To date, the Enchanted Closet has outfitted more than 4,000 girls for special occasions. In 2013, the organization will celebrate its 10th Anniversary and 11th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway season.

During the Prom Dress Giveaway, the Enchanted Closet offers a boutique-style setting and provides personal shoppers – people who are volunteers – to help each girl choose that perfect dress, accessories and makeup for their special night. Enchanted Closet encourages girls to be smart shoppers by providing them an opportunity to get beautiful gowns for $10, a handling fee that helps to offset the costs of dry-cleaning, alterations, and set-up. Accessories are available on a limited basis.
