Follow on Google News | A&D’s New And Improved Carat Balances Make Jewelry Weighing Even Simpler And More Productive.A&D Company, Limited released a new version of carat balances (scale interval d = 0.001 ct) with improved stability and usability. These balances realize not just speed and accuracy, but also comfort of use in the field of jewelry processing.
Maximizing A&D’s state-of-the- Weighing that is fast, simple, and free from mistakes Let’s face it: measuring weights is not an exciting task. This is especially true when it is repetitive and prolonged. The FZ-CT and FX-CT series, however, take only 2 seconds to stabilize the display, enabling the user to perform fast, efficient measurements with no frustrating waiting time. Moreover, compared with other carat balances on the market, the breeze break of the FZ-CT and FX-CT series allows the user a much larger working space, which increases both ease and pace of operation. A&D has adopted their popular reverse-backlit LCD for the display of the FZ-CT and FX-CT series. The contrast of black and white is extremely easy to read and prevents fatigue of the eyes. Combined with plain key alignment, the user-friendly display eliminates confusion and errors, and makes long hours of work less tiresome. Flexible setup and easy maintenance Is good weighing performance the only important aspect of a balance? – Certainly not. It helps too if the balance provides greater ease of use for installation, maintenance and control. With the proven technology of A&D’s Compact Super Hybrid Sensor (C-SHS), the footprint of the FZ-CT and FX-CT series is as small as 198 mm by 294 mm, which is even smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. In addition, the balance requires no extra space at the rear in order to access the weighing chamber, as the doors simply rotate behind the balance. Such configuration maximizes opportunities for use of the balance in even the smallest of spaces. The breeze break is made from safe and shatterproof non-glass materials, and it can be attached or detached quickly using a unique clip system, allowing fast, simple cleaning of the balance. It is also treated with an antistatic agent to ensure stable weighing. The front-mounted spirit level is easily visible when adjusting the leveling feet of the balance. With the FZ-CT models the built-in mass lets the user calibrate the balance with just one key press without requiring any special skills. For users who change location often, these features are especially convenient in order to maintain the accuracy of the balance. Useful functions and options To assist the user in diverse weighing situations, the FZ-CT and FX-CT series have various functions and peripheral devices available, including the following: The counting mode with Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement (ACAI) enables the user to count the number of small jewelry pieces of the same mass value quickly, effortlessly and precisely. ACAI recalculates the average unit weight each time a sample is added to eliminate errors caused by variations in unit weight. Depending on the amount of draft or vibration around (such as that caused by people walking nearby), the user may sometimes want to trade weighing speed for higher stability. From three preset response characteristics (FAST, MID and SLOW) the user can select the one that best suits their weighing environment. On top of metric carat and gram, weighing results can be displayed in 10 different units: ounce, pound, pound/ounce, troy ounce, momme, pennyweight, grain, pcs (for counting mode) and % (for percent mode), in addition to a user-programmable unit for conversion applications (one more unit from tael, tola, or Newton can be added upon request). An optional Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack (FXi-09) can be fitted into the balance for use in the field without AC power (10 hours of charging for 14 hours of operation). This also gives the user peace of mind when stable power supply is not guaranteed. If the user needs to show the results to others (over the counter, etc.), the optional remote display AD-8920A is useful. It receives power supply directly from the balance instead of the AC adapter when connected via RS-232C. Finally, for communication with a PC, two optional interfaces can be selected other than the standard RS-232C. The quick USB interface (FXi-02) allows easy transfer of weighing data to a PC USB port (one way) without any driver or software installation, and the LAN-Ethernet interface (FXi-08) and accompanying WinCT-Plus software enable the sending of commands to control and acquire data from multiple balances. Three capacities of 1260 ct (252 g), 760 ct (152 g) and 510 ct (102 g) are available for both the FZ-CT series (with an internal calibration mass) and FX-CT series (external mass calibration only) with a readability of 0.001 ct. All come with two handy jewelry weighing pans (silver & black).
