Long Distance USB 2.0, the first installment of the Problem Solvers series is available on the ShowMeCables YouTube channel. This video addresses the question of how to extend the connection with a USB device, such as a printer, webcam or any other of the countless devices that use USB. USB has a distance limitation of just over 16 feet. An existing cable can be extended with a simple male to female USB cable if the total length is less than 16 feet. In order to extend past the 16-foot limit, the user should employ an active USB extension cable, which repeats the signal and allows for much longer distances.
