The now 24-year-old vehicle dependability study conducted by the infamous J.D. Power and Associates investigates the number of problems incurred by original owners of three-year-old models (2010 models) in the span of the last 12 months. This investigation includes a look at 202 specific problem symptoms that are grouped into eight major vehicle systems and the level of problems incurred per 100 vehicles, then calculates overall dependability. The lower the score the higher the quality, as a low score means that less problems were incurred with the model. Once completed, the study results will list model and nameplate rankings as well as specific industry insights.
