Investment Advisor on Cross Country Trip in Tesla Model SThe all-electric "Car of the Year" has had its share of glory -- and doubt. What's the truth? Jack Bowers sets out to find out by driving from California to Boston, and back.
March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Jack Bowers knows mutual funds. He's the Investment Strategist for Weber Asset Management and he's publisher of Fidelity Monitor & Insight newsletter.
But as a former electical engineer who began his career at Hewlett-Packard, he's also fascinated by breakthrough engineering. He was among the first to own a Tesla Roadster, but now he has the much-heralded Tesla Model S and he's been wanting to put it through its paces. So he and one of his employees set out, beginning on March 1st, to go from their office in Rocklin CA, across the country to their office outside Boston, and then down to the headquarters of Weber Asset Management on Long Island, just outside of New York City. And after that meeting, back to Rocklin. All in about 21 days! Along the way, Jack will conduct several invesment seminars with subscribers and clients. The seminars will focus on energy issues. The trip required careful planning -- they can't just pull into a gas station to refuel. Instead, they need to use, in most cases, special charging stations, and those chargers are few and far apart.
