Figueroa St. Los Angeles, CA. 90015. The second annual “One Child At A Time Celebrity Basketball Game” fundraising event gave foster children the chance to meet professional athletes, actors, comedians, radio personalities and local politicians. The “One Child At A Time” Celebrity Basketball Game was hosted by comedian/actor Katt Williams and organized by the One Child At A Time Committee. Thousands of dollars in Scholarships were distributed during the game by FOX 11 News Anchor Christine Devine and Dwyane Wade Sr., father of basketball legend Dwyane Wade, who also served as coach for the Blue Team. This was a wonderful day to give back to the community with hundreds of foster children, community leaders and many other celebrities who attended this charity event. There were numerous live performances from up and coming artists and dance crews, who rocked the crowd present. A host of Actors, Comedians, Singers, Rappers, NFL players, NBA players, WNBA Players and Producers were in attendance including Power 106. After the event Katt Williams entertained the children who were present with an impromptu meet and greet. Katt gave away approximately $7,000 in $100 bills to children in the audience, most of who were foster youth. Proceeds from the events will help provide services for more than 36,000 foster children in the Department of Children and Family Services. More specifically, the money raised will be funneled to families who cannot afford unapproved medical and dental expenses, such as general anesthesiology, orthodontia treatment, summer camps and after school activities not funded by government sources. All your efforts mean so much to these children that will be touched by your good wishes and generosity. End
