New York, NY – Debra Burdick, LCSWR, BCN, also known as “The Brain Lady”, teaches how to achieve improved well-being during her 3-week tele-training “Mindfulness – The Basics and Beyond” beginning Thursday, March 28, 2013. Registration for the on-line classes is at  thebrainlady.com/mindfulness/.

The intensive tele-trainings will cover what mindfulness is, and how you can incorporate it into your daily life for better physical and mental health.  According to Burdick, “research suggests that using mindfulness skills can save your life.”

Based on extensive mindfulness research and her work with hundreds of clients, Burdick’s trainings utilize experiential techniques. “The benefits demonstrated by research are compelling, and include improved concentration, a sense of overall well-being, and, more self-awareness,” continues Burdick. Clients can self-regulate their moods, focus better, sleep well, and experience success in school, at work, and in relationships.

Burdick lectures throughout the year for CMI/PESI and other professional groups and organizations. She is a frequent speaker for teleseminars.

Burdick, a board-certified neurofeedback practitioner and licensed clinical social worker has provided outpatient psychotherapy and mindfulness skills to clients since 1990.  She is unusually aware of challenges and successes related to ADHD as she parented a daughter with ADHD, and was married to a man with ADHD.  She used mindfulness techniques to help herself heal from a chronic illness, techniques so helpful that she started teaching her clients the skills she had learned.

Burdick is the author of several books and CD’s about ADHD diagnosis, treatment options, and holistic/alternative approaches for children, adults, and parents.  Her work has been featured in Self Improvement Magazine, and she is an online expert at SelfGrowth.com.

Mindfulness Skills Workbook: Therapeutic Options for Overcoming Life Stressors, her new book to be released in spring 2013, includes the latest breakthroughs and tools that teach clients, patients, and students how to benefit from mindfulness in their daily lives. Burdick’s Internet site is found at TheBrainLady.com; it offers mental health information, resources, and a free newsletter with useful tips from the latest brain research.
