By: Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, LLP Ms. Chicvak, of Kings Park, NY, will receive a $5,000 partial tuition merit scholarship. She is a 2011 graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations and is a 2014 Juris Doctorate candidate at St. John’s University Law School. Mr. Rosasco, a St. John’s University Law School graduate, established the scholarship to honor the memory of his friend, John Sciortino, who passed away suddenly on March 12, 2012. Mr. Sciortino was the Founding Partner of Segar & Sciortino, a law firm based in Rochester, New York, and served as President of the New York State Injured Workers’ Bar Association, where Mr. Rosasco worked with him for many years on the Board of Directors. Mr. Sciortino was also a Founding Member and State Co-Chair of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Alliance and served on the Board of Directors of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Memorial. “I wish to congratulate Courtney on receiving this prestigious scholarship that was established in John’s memory,” Mr. Rosasco said. “His leadership in the field of workers’ compensation law, his unfailing dedication to representing injured workers and his friendship are sorely missed. Given Ms. Chicvak’s longstanding academic interest in workplace law, I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this scholarship.” For more information (http://www.nydisabilitylaw.com/ End
