ISLA will have three to five minutes to alert Congress of the alarming drowning rates worldwide and to demonstrate how vital awareness is for drowning prevention. The goal of the briefing is to create awareness of International Water Safety Day and to share with congress the need for water safety education curriculum in schools, and how The Global Drowning Tracker© can help. The Global Drowning Tracker© website reveals the drowning epidemic and provides people anywhere in the world access to view the rate of which drowning occurs, and provides them the ability to report a drowning through the Internet.
