NEW YORK - May 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Nationally-known parenting expert and children's author Julia Cook will be in New York City next week - May 15 through 19 - talking about predator safety for children and parents.

Cook's recent book release Smarter than the Scoopers has been endorsed by Child Watch of North America and The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This book is an excellent tool to equip children with the safety skills they need to prevent being abducted. It empowers children with the skills and confidence needed to make right choices in their daily social interactions. This new edition includes online safety tips, too, as well as helpful parent safety tips.

You could choose to ignore this issue and simply hope it never happens. You could also choose to never let your children out of your site. Unfortunately, neither of these strategies is feasible. Parents, educators and others who work with children are desperate to understand how to equip our children with the skills that will build their self-confidence in dealing with dangerous, unplanned situations.
