Fort Worth native strives to ink his way to history in August 2013

FORT WORTH, Texas - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Just one look at him and you can tell that his story has been written not just on his skin through ink but through the passion that runs inside of him. A tattoo artist and author, Gregory hopes to not only make history in August 2013 but leave an example of what is possible.

Beginning midnight on Saturday, August 17th to midnight on Sunday, August 18th he will be working to break the Guinness Book of World Record for the most tattoos in a single day. That would mean that he would have to do over 800 tattoos during that time frame. Gregory's goal is 817.

"I want to do 817 tattoos to represent not only my area code but the people in it," he says. "I want them to see that this is not just about me but about all of us who have a dream and pursue it."

For some the life of Mr. Mean Mug is what movies and gangsta rap is made of: drugs, guns, a broken home, music, jail and then redemption. But for the man born Shane Gregory it is much deeper than that. What he has lived through is not something he would have chosen. It is, however, what he was dealt, and he has emerged a stronger, wiser man because of it. Now with a new lease on life he lives everyday to its fullest with an emphasis on how he can use the time he has been given to make a difference in the life of those around him. With his debut novel TATTOO TEARS creating a steady buzz and the success of his business Tattoo World 820 in Fort Worth he is working daily to dispel stereotypes and show the youth a better way.

During the event to make history individuals can either register or walk-in. All of this will take place at Tattoo World 820 (3827 East Loop 820 S * Fort Worth, TX 76119) and will include entertainment and fun for the kids as well.
