Madison Who’s Who Recognizes Marco Morriale

June 4, 2013 - PRLog -- There is something about the Marche region, specifically Ancona, Italy, that makes the spirits soar. This area has been a nursery to artists past like Raphael and Matteo Ricci. The 16th century Ricci is known for his drawings, but perhaps he is more famous for being one of the best known foreigners who traveled to China. He was the first foreigner allowed to enter the Imperial Palace. Today Ricci is the inspiration for the contemporary artist Dionisio Cimarelli, one of Italy's best-known sculptors of the present day, and another that comes from around Ancona. Like Ricci, Cimarelli has been working in China and has contributed works to the Italian Pavilion at Shanghai’s Expo 2010. Fortunately for Cimarelli he lives in a time of air travel making the trip to China much swifter than what Ricci experienced in the 1700’s.  This brings us to Marco Morriale, the Chief Executive Officer of Aerdorica S.P.A. the company responsible for all aspects of Ancona Falconara Airport operations.. Mr. Morriale chose the Marche region and the airport because they have great potential for success. “I am convinced the passion and skill that I found on the Board of Directors of Aerdorica resides in the Marches.” He himself was chosen after a national selection which involved 240 candidates. As a man who takes the ball running, Mr. Morriale anticipated early goals to achieve: a balanced budget over three years (Increased efficiency in revenue, to be independent and grow under its own power), as well as the structural development of the airport. He said, “Through constant growth of traffic, airlines are in the Marche region for years and not just months."

Ancona Falconara Airport was once called Raffaello Sanzio after the famous painter Raphael who was born in Urbino in the Marche. It is 18 kms from the city of Ancona and its new Passenger and Cargo Terminals were inaugurated on 24 June 2004. It is close to a railway station and is directly connected by a viaduct to the main roads and motorway that link Rome and Milan. This airport is halfway down the Italian Adriatic coast and its strategic position provides a perfect location for a center with multi-transport facilities. The Ancona Falconara Airport has recently been expanded and remodernized making it a modern focus for the Marche and neighbouring regions for the development of tourism and industry in a United Europe. Thanks to the geographic position and its facilities Ancona Airport’s mission is to become the gateway to central Italy. The mission of Aerdorica is focused on the customers' needs and security while increasing the efficiency of the Airport facilities. Aerdorica manages services for airline passengers and air freight, refueling, and overseeing airport operations.

One of the steps that started Mr. Morriale on his current path was earning his Master’s Degree in Airport Transport Management from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. Cranfield University’s mission is to transform knowledge into ingenious solutions in science, technology and management, and this places them at the forefront of some of the world’s most practical, cutting-edge projects.

There are other very important aspects that round Mr. Morriale out. He married his wife Mary in 1998, and they have a daughter. One of the places he goes to relax and recharge is on the golf course.

Marco Morriale can be found on the Madison Who’s Who Directory, where he is looking forward to networking with you.
