SAN DIEGO - June 6, 2013 - PRLog -- CoachDeck LLC, (www.coachdeck.com) a leader in providing training resources for youth sports coaches, has announced they are donating their products to the Wildcat Baseball League in Fort Wayne, IN

Wildcat Baseball (www.wildcatbaseball.us) is a sports program for boys and girls ages 6-15 in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Wildcat is a unique and, perhaps, one-of-a-kind league in that there is no emphasis on winning, there are no try-outs or “cuts” and no registration fee to join. The only cost is in the form of a “donation” of nine dollars for shirts and hats players wear to practices and games.

The league employs local high school and college students, as well as area high school teachers and coaches to oversee activities at various locations throughout the city. Each site maintains a staff of these trained instructors, none of whom have responsibility for any single team, but rather share the duties of coaching all kids at all levels. Brian Gotta, President of CoachDeck, played in the league for many years, then was one of these coaches for seven summers through high school and college. “I loved playing and coaching Wildcat. As an instructor, it was heartwarming to see youngsters who may not have been skilled enough to be able to play in competitive youth baseball programs have a place they could come and still enjoy being on a team and playing real games.” he said. “Not only was it a great summer job, it was a tremendous leadership and life experience. I owe a great deal to this league and believe it is one of the best examples one can find of philanthropy and of caring individuals making a difference in young peoples' lives through youth sports.”

CoachDeck has donated their baseball drill decks to the league so that all Wildcat site instructors will have the tool available. Bill Derbyshire, President of Wildcat Baseball, was excited by the donation. “It's great!” he said of the product. “It's something our staff can really utilize. The thing that's best is that it's not complex. It's easy for them to use.”

Wildcat Baseball was founded in 1960 by Dale McMillen, (“Mr. Mac”) who determined to do something after attending a youth league tryout and seeing the disappointment on the faces of children told they would not be allowed to play. 2013 will be the league's fifty-third year providing true recreational baseball opportunities to community youth. Wildcat's motto, appropriately, is, “Everybody Makes the Team.”
