Follow on Google News | Matthew Browndorf, firm’s Managing Partner intends to build Creditor’s Rights Practice GroupBp law group growing at time when fewer law graduates can find jobs
By: Matthew Browndorf Commercial law firm BP Law Group, LLP, recently increased its team of attorneys for their California and New York offices. According to Matthew Browndorf, Managing Partner for the firm, who is located in New York City, at their Park Avenue office, the new hires will initially be part of their Creditor’s Rights Practice Group (CRPG). A Los Angeles Times article reported today, that many recent graduates of law schools are working hourly jobs in restaurants and department stores because they have not been able to find employment in law related fields. Many of these graduates have joined class-action lawsuits against the schools for “on-going fraud”, related to the various schools’ claims of high percentages of graduates working nine months after graduating. With yearly tuition for many schools running $40,000 or more per year, the average student is more than $100,000 in debt upon graduation. Although the demand for attorneys rise and fall, Joseph Dunn, the chief executive for the State Bar of California said, “I don’t think any of them rival the situation we are seeing today. The legal community in all 50 states is being dramatically impacted.” At a time when numerous law firms face financial devastation, and have filed for bankruptcy protection, Matthew Browndorf says that BP Law Group, LLP has actually been increasing its body of attorneys. The firm, which practices commercial law, recently added an additional 17 employees to its outstanding legal team. These recent hires are high-caliber specialized professionals with wide-ranging knowledge and proficiency in their field. The firm has steadily increased its client base within the CRPG. Matthew Browndorf, who also is the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group chair, feels that the firm will be able to enhance future services to its clients, offering greater resources and capabilities to better meet their needs. Matthew Browndorf notes that the CRPG will complement BP Law’s teams for Corporate Finance and Securities, and Commercial Litigation.
