Los Angeles Director Sarah Downey Film "The Undercard" Nominated For Toronto Female Film Festival

Downey, female Independent Film writer and director of the Toronto Female Eye Film Fest nominated short film "The Undercard", prepares to compete at a one-of-a-kind international film festival that focuses on films directed by women.

The intrepid Female Eye Film Festival, is a five day festival in Toronto, Canada, showcasing high caliber films in drama, comedy, sci-fi, action, documentary, animation and experimental by debut, emerging and established female directors.

The nominated short film The Undercard, centers around a story of a woman chalking everything to the game. Dylan a young mother is forced back into a life of crime in order to find out information about the kidnapping of her son. She partners up with her old crew which leads her to an underworld of bare knuckle fights, mobsters, and ruckus. Dylan finds out that her husband hasn't been truthful, and a young detective informs her that she has the grandson of one of the most powerful west coast mobsters.
