By: Gower Hen Parties, Welsh Crafters www.gowerhenparties.com tel 07970059869 Would you like to come to a craft party by the sea and make beautiful things out of the things that you have found, beachcombing and walking on the coastal paths, on Gower, South Wales, UK? Make your own vintage wedding favours etc What could be relaxing than renting a cottage and crafting by the sea? Welsh artists, crafters and teachers have come together to run eight different craft workshops for brides-to-be, their friends and family. They are ideal for brides-to-be who want to do something creative and gentle. And not everyone's mum wants to go surfing in the freezing cold water! "Our craft workshops on Gower are aimed at people who want to have natural, eco-friendly weddings and achieve a vintage look", says Patricia Hodge who runs Gower Hen Parties in Wales. "Our crafters show them how to make amazing hand-made and heart-shaped items such as; broaches, cup cakes, chocolate twizzle sticks, candels, hanging hearts - buttons, beads, crystals, driftwood, mosaics and pearls, hair fascinators/ DIY weddings are fashionable because the hand-made vintage look is in and making your own wedding favours is a fun idea for a hen party. Few people want to just drink the whole weekend and gower hen parties offer them a break from it! Hens can make presents for themselves or the bride to be and sometimes all the hens make one present together for the bride. e.g. driftwood garlands. This Autumn, new crafters in other parts of the UK will be working under the umbrella of Gowerhenparties too, in Bristol, Devon and Yorkshire. The Rowan Tree Studio, Devon and Just Mosaics, Bristol will be running craft workshops for Gower Hen Parties too. Alex Martin, a trained herbalist and Welsh writer of "A Twisted Vine" and "Daffodils" says; "Patricia Hodge has been organising high profile events for 30 years. She loves art, crafting and the sea and is great at bringing people together and inspiring them. It is a pleasure to be working with her and other hand-picked crafters on this really exciting initiative. I think shop bought wedding favours are a thing of the past, as people love making their own things and people are now organising weddings on shoe-string budgets. We can really help people style their wedding for a few hundred pounds and so this has got the attention of a lot of people. Brides to be and their hens love the wild beaches here and enjoy gathering herbs on our wilderness walks on Gower. We take them to secret places and take them past the wild ponies and onto the wildflower centre cafe (which has amazing trip advisor reviews). Then we help them make their own gorgeous fizzy bomb cup cakes, heart-shaped soap melts and love potions, to take home with them. How blissful? And what could be more relaxing than a craft hen party by the sea?" For further information and images please contact Gower Hen Parties, Gower, Wales www.gowerhenparties.com tel 07970 059869 End
