Some of her many charitable involvements include the Joffrey Ballet Women’s Board, the Service Club of Chicago, Common Threads’ Board of Directors and PAWS’ Development Board. She has co-chaired numerous signature events and galas including Common Threads’ World Festival (four times), Macy’s Glamorama (four times), the Service Club Ball and the Joffrey Ballet’s Spring Celebration Gala 2012, which was a record breaker for the organization. She co-founded one of Chicago’s most anticipated annual events, the Joffrey’s Couture & Cocktails, now in its eighth highly successful year. She was also instrumental in founding and establishing the Ronald McDonald House Women’s Auxiliary Board at Lurie Children’s Hospital and she is the founding member of the Auxiliary Board of Common Threads, Chef Art Smith's healthy eating initiative for underprivileged children. Known as the “go to” emcee and host for many of Chicago’s hottest and most fashionable events, her Telly Award-winning internet show, Candid Candace Chicago, can be seen on Chicago’s online network, www.Watch312.com, where she covers and highlights the best of Chicago’s events and what’s not-to-be-missed on the scene. Candace is a regular contributor to A Perfect Event, Status and TCW magazines and a frequent guest on many local television and radio shows including Windy City Live and WCIU’s You & Me This Morning, WGN Midday News, WGN radio and NPR radio to name a few. Chicago Magazine named her the Belle of the Blog in a cover story feature and CS Magazine included her blog in its Best of the City 2012 issue. As the Chicago Tribune’s social columnist, she authors her own column, Candid Candace, which appears weekly in its Sunday magazine. In addition to being selected for two of Chicago’s top 100 lists – 100 Most Powerful Chicagoans (Michigan Avenue Magazine) and 100 Women Making a Difference (TCW Magazine), Candace has been recognized in numerous magazine features such as: Chicago Style Setter; Style Icon; Style Influencer; Top 25 Most Fashionable Chicagoans; Chicago Personal Brand, and The A-List: 60 Chicagoans of Style. An only child, Candace grew up in Southern IL, and at the tender age of thirteen began her career, becoming the youngest fashion coordinator in the history of a major retail chain. In high school, she was a cheerleader, a straight-A student and class valedictorian. At eighteen she was chosen as a Bunny for the St. Louis Playboy Club and as one of the most popular Bunnies she was quickly noticed and promoted to the plum position of Bunny at Playboy’s hub, the Chicago Playboy Club, eventually becoming Bunny of the Year in 1976. She moved into the original Playboy Mansion located at 1340 N. State Parkway where Hugh Hefner was in residence. In 1979, Candace became Playboy Magazine's December centerfold, followed by 6 magazine covers (2 U.S. and 4 foreign) and over the next three decades appeared in multiple issues. She remains one of the most popular Playboy Playmates ever and one of the few who worked as both a Bunny and also received the title of Playmate. During the same time period, Candace became a successful model working for top industry clients. In the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s she graced the cover of twenty magazines, both national and international, and had a billboard in Times Square for JVC. Known for her arresting eyes, Playboy’s February 1980 “Eyes” cover won a National Marketing Bestseller award and remains one of its best-selling issues of all time. She appeared in numerous editorial features and advertisements worldwide. She began to enjoy a fledging acting career, appearing in such classics as Risky Business and Smoky and The Bandits 3, only to leave it all behind and retire when she met future husband, Chuck Jordan. Accolades and honors continue to follow Candace including being named one of five “Bold & Beautiful Women” in Chicago by Chicago Magazine and Kohler, named to Who’s Who in Chicago and named one of the “Top 10 Cheeky Chicks of the Year” where she received Top Philanthropist honors. AOL’s City’s Best Chicago named her “Unofficial Hostess of Chicago.” She was included in Burberry’s fall campaign: “Art of the Trench” 2012 and received the inaugural “Women Driving Excellence: Trailblazer” As wife to Chuck, stepmother to Charley and mom to Chihuahuas, Mickey and Rooney, she is a lover of antiques, a collector rare books and paperweights, and enjoys Chicago’s rich social scene.
