Follow on Google News | SteriTouch boost its global exportsBy: SteriTouch One such company is additives specialist SteriTouch, which has seen year on year growth; export figures now account for 70% of its turnover, most recently from China, India, South America and continued business from Australasia. SteriTouch, based in Abertillery, is a leading manufacturer of antimicrobial additives which prevent the growth of mould and harmful bacteria, such as MRSA, E.Coli and Salmonella, and remain effective for the lifetime of the product. The additive is based on the natural sterilising properties of silver, and has been incorporated in to a range of company products including Mothercare, Universal Electronics, hand dryers, Crown Paints, PHS and Rust-Oleum to name a few. In 2001 we commissioned an Ipos MORI poll, which showed that SteriTouch was associated with ‘hygiene’ by over 10 times the number of consumers, as our nearest UK competitor. The poll was repeated in 2012 and even though more competitors were included, SteriTouch was still the leader by a significant margin. The strength of the SteriTouch brand has been an important factor to the company’s success outside the UK, without export figures would be significantly lower. SteriTouch does not charge licensing fees for the use of its recognisable logo as a co-brand making it unique among competitors and helping the brand grow globally. End
