Shutts & Bowen Partner Paul Scheck elected Orange County Bar President

ORLANDO, Fla. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, Fla. – Paul Scheck, (http://www.shutts.com/attorneys-paul-scheck.html) a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP's Orlando office, has been elected President of the Orange County Bar Association for the 2013-14 Bar year.

Mr. Scheck, a partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, intends to focus on mentoring lawyers at all levels from basic skills training for new Bar members to expanding Continuing Legal Education offerings. He also plans to strengthen OCBA’s bonds with other local voluntary bar associations, as well as implementing new programs to further emphasize the need for professionalism and civility in the practice of law.

Long active in the OCBA, Mr. Scheck was previously elected Secretary and Treasurer, and is also a previous President of the Association’s Young Lawyers’ Section.

“Our ultimate goal is to make ourselves even more relevant to members, prospective members and the community as a whole,” Mr. Scheck said. “We will launch a New Lawyer Training Program in August, bring lawyers and judges together in a Bench Bar Conference in April, and develop a strategic plan to bring this Bar association forward in the years and decades ahead.”

Mr. Scheck is a 1994 honors graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, and also received his bachelor’s degree in 1990 from UF. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2010.

He lives with his wife and three children in the Delaney Park neighborhood just south of downtown Orlando. He coaches baseball, is active in his church and enjoys reading and camping.
