GUILDFORD, U.K. - July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Digital publisher Green Star Media has generated a further profitable revenue stream from 30,000 free downloads of its soccer magazine app Elite Soccer during its first year on Apple’s Newsstand.

Elite Soccer, which is already sold exclusively online, has enjoyed sales of subscriptions, back issues and compilation “bookazines” through the Newsstand digital platform. Elite Soccer exclusively reproduces soccer training plans from English professional team managers including those from the Premier League, and has customers in more than 50 countries.

Newsstand sales are contributing to accelerated growth at the company, which already boasts more than 90% digital revenues. Average revenue per day from Newsstand continues to rise. Company revenues are expected to be ahead more than 20% in 2013.

Nearly 4% of browsing Newsstand customers who download a free digital sample copy of Elite Soccer will proceed to make a purchase. A 4% conversion rate compares extremely favourably with the standard response rate for targeted direct mail of 1%. These customers are subsequently highly likely to make a further purchase of related products, according to Green Star Media’s founder and managing director Andrew Griffiths.

“In the past two months we have already launched our other three digital subscription magazines – Soccer Coach Weekly (http://www.coach-soccer.com/downloads/SUA/SoccerCoachW322...), Rugby Coach Weekly (http://www.rugby-coach.com/downloads/U20/RugbyCoachW317.pdf)and International Rugby Coaching – on to Newsstand together with back issues and bookazines, and are expecting similar or better results from them,” said Griffiths.

Green Star Media is also pressing ahead with Android versions of its digital magazines. Of the 56 billion annual App downloads forecast for 2013, approximately 32.5 billion, or 58%, will go to Android smart phones, according to figures from Information Week UK.

“Launching on another platform will further significantly increase our reach. In terms of profitable paying customers, I expect that the Android platform will double our numbers within a year,” said Griffiths.
