COSTA MESA, Calif. - July 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Senator Mimi Walters introduced a California Senate Resolution recognizing July 13, 2013 as “Baby Abandonment Prevention Awareness Day” to honor the work of Costa Mesa-based Project Cuddle and their efforts to rescue abandoned babies in the community and around the country.

Debbe Magnusen, founder of Project Cuddle, “We want to thank Senator Mimi Walters and her committee for their resolution to honor the work of Project Cuddle and our efforts to prevent baby abandonment. We hope this recognition helps keep Project Cuddle going and growing with volunteers, donations and our annual fundraisers. Since its inception, Costa Mesa-based Project Cuddle has saved over 735 babies across the country and into Canada from the fate of being abandoned, or worse and just since January of this year; we have rescued 25 babies and have 2 more this week ready to deliver! Our case load has more than tripled and we are averaging 35 cases at this time.”

Project Cuddle also provides educational materials at no cost for schools that are interested in sharing the message with their students.  The “Believe Campaign” video helps students become aware of the options available to them other than abandonment of a baby.  The school video features John Stamos, as well as Denise Richards, Kristin Davis, and is being distributed across America.
