Manuel Moreira da Cunha joins TBK Consult in Portugal

Similar to other European countries, Portugal is a relatively small market, although with technology development indexes aligned with their EU colleagues.   95% of enterprises have access to the internet (average EU is 95%), and the population is technologically savvy.   However, the Portuguese IT market represents just 1.5% of Portugal’s GDP.  Within these figures, the Software & IT Services Industry (SITSI) market accounts for 73% of all IT expenditure.  In the area of SaaS business, double-digit growth rates are expected to be sustained until the end of 2017.   In global terms, and due to the internal market conditions, it is also expected that Portuguese SITSI companies will keep growing based on an internationalization move that already exists.
 
Due to its history and its geographical position, Portugal has, through the centuries, gained relevance in the economic relationship between Europe, Africa and Latin America.   These strong links, especially with Portuguese speaking countries, have made Portugal a good business platform for companies from these areas and, more recently, these links have also been extended to the Latin American Spanish speaking countries, enlarging the business possibilities of these platforms.
