YPSILANTI, Mich. - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Ypsilanti, Michigan :  Little Angels Preschool & Daycare children and staff will deliver cookies to senior citizens.  The idea was created by Jason Hosler, a Preschool Teacher and Jen Kendzel, one of the directors at Little Angels Preschool & Daycare.  The program will teach the children many things including: socializing with elders, measuring and baking ingredients and kitchen safety.  The children will also make cards and visit with the seniors to brighten their day.  Jason states, “I want the kids to learn how important caring for others is, especially the elderly.  I’m hoping this event will help the children learn how small acts of kindness can mean the world to someone else.”

This sweet program is designed to celebrate National Senior Citizens Day on August 21, 2013.  Close to 30 preschoolers, with staff supervision, will bake dozens of sugar, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies.  They’ll be baking the cookies at The Simmering Pot, a commercial kitchen space for rent in the Hub Building where Little Angels Preschool and Daycare is located.

Little Angels staff and preschoolers will deliver cookies to the Ypsilanti Senior Home and to the CHS Group, which also has office space located in the Hub building.  The CHS Group helps the elderly along with people with Alzheimer’s, Autism, Mental Illness, Traumatic brain trauma, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis with their daily routine as well as employment support and respite care.
