By: Land Rover Hoffman Estates The APEAL study — which stands for Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout — was completely overhauled for its 18th year. Over 83,000 drivers were questioned about 77 attributes of their new vehicles — needless to say, the study covers all areas of the vehicles in the study, from performance, to style, to efficiency, and much more. The aggregate results for each model were used to assign it an APEAL score on a 1,000-point scale. The Land Rover brand ranked 4th overall in this year’s study; the 2013 Range Rover’s strong showing represents the first time that a vehicle outside of the large premium car segment has taken top honors among all vehicles, solidifying Land Rover’s status as one of the world’s premier manufacturers of luxury SUVs.
