WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- iChatMediation is a Florida based, professional mediation service that provides mediation services to individuals, divorcing couples and businesses involved in legal disputes. Its founder, Matthew Brickman is a Florida Supreme Court certified and county civil family mediator who has worked in the 15th and 19th Judicial Circuit Court since 2009 and 2006 respectively. What separates his company's services from other mediators is their online mediation platform by video conferencing, live resolution using Cisco's WebEx communication platform. This has allowed the disputing parties to mediate from the comfort, safety and convenience of their own home or workplace. This service has been especially helpful in cases where there is an active restraining order or order of protection.

Since divorce mediation and the separation of a family is very dynamic and can involve many facets of a couples life, there are consequently a wide variety of questions that may be presented to the mediator. Recently there have been questions surrounding how much an individual is entitled to regarding retirement accounts in a divorce. Matthew Brickman recently posted a video on his YouTube Channel explaining the legal implications of a QDRO.

He stated, "One issue that I commonly encounter in mediation is retirement accounts, and the question that arises is this - how much am I entitled to? The short answer is you are entitled to the marital portion, but how do you figure that out? The good news is you don't have to and neither do I."

He went on to say, "That's actually left to an expert that does what they call a QDRO, which stands for Qualified Domestic Relations Order. The only thing that we need in mediation is your date of marriage and your date of filing the petition for dissolution of marriage." Mr. Brickman continued to explain how ultimately the marital portion to be divided between the two people is finally determined.
