"Melody of Art" Reception to honor Arts Leaders on the Eve of the Congressional Black Caucus Sept 17

WASHINGTON - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Celebrating its 10th year, The Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) will host its annual Melody of Art reception on Tuesday, September 17th, 7-10 p.m. at The Atlas Performing Arts Center.

This year, (CAAPA) is will honor The Washington Chorus and its music director Julian Wachner along with Kathy Brewington of the Washington Performing Arts Society for their tireless efforts in embodying CAAPA's motto of "bringing color classics."

In addition, this special event recognizes the 43^rd Annual Legislative Conference with its annual Pre-Caucus Reception & Fundraiser by inviting arts lovers and politicos to support African American Classical Musicians, visual artists and poets at this signature event that supports President Barack Obama’s agenda for appreciating the arts, role and value of creative expression.
