Follow on Google News | ![]() New DCI Dialysis Facility Opening Soon in Cuba, NMDialysis Clinic, Inc., (DCI) completed construction on their latest dialysis facility at 14 East Cordova Avenue, Cuba, NM, in May 2013. Starting Sept.16, the staff will provide treatment to one patient while awaiting the official Medicare survey.
By: Dialysis Clinic, Inc. DCI Nurse Manager, Beverly Lawson, says, “We are excited to be able to provide treatment in the Cuba area. Unfortunately, we don’t have an official opening date at this time. We are on the list for the Medicare survey and as soon the survey is completed, we will open our doors.” The dialysis clinic hours are anticipated to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the first shift beginning at 6a.m. The hours will be expanded to accommodate patient needs as patients transfer into the facility. Located on the edge of the Santa Fe National Forest, the new facility in Cuba serves a high need area. “Currently, many patients drive over an hour each way to reach a dialysis facility. DCI Cuba will be more convenient for the patients in this region,” states Beverly. DCI Cuba is a brand new 16 station dialysis center. The facility will offer in-center hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. “We have hired technicians from this area to better serve the patients at this facility. Our staff can communicate with patients in English, Spanish, and Navajo,” says Beverly. Beverly goes on to say, “We strive to provide excellent patient care in all of our facilities. We are bringing more than 25 years of dialysis experience into this area. We look forward to taking great care of our patients and treating them like family.” Providing treatments to approximately 14,000 patients, DCI operates more than 200 clinics located in 28 states across the nation. DCI is recognized by the United States Renal Data System (USRDS) for the past ten years as the only national provider having hospitalization and mortality ratios consistently below national average.
