Royal Family Photo Raises Eyebrows

Sept. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- When you live under a microscope like the royal family does everything you do has the potential to be called a scandal. Some may have some merit (Harry, even though you’re in Las Vegas, please put your shirt back on) but a lot of the hoopla is just talking heads with nothing better to talk about than the crown jewels or if it was really acceptable for Prince William to drive his wife and newborn son home from the hospital. Still, the Brits (and many Americans) love to dissect everything they do. The latest bit of scandal, if you can call it that, has to do with the recently released official photo of the royal family.

This latest scandal bothers all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons. Some people complain that the photo wasn’t taken by a professional photographer but rather by Catherine’s brother. Some are bothered by the fact that it wasn’t taken in a professional studio but in a casual, more relaxed setting. Still others are upset that instead of being photographed with the royal jewels, the only jewelry in sight is a fine watch and a pair of pearl earrings. (We won’t even get started on the people up in arms because there is a dog in the picture.)

From the moment that Prince William, already a well-known lad, was pushed deeper into the spotlight with his marriage and now the birth of his child, he has made it clear that he is going to be a different sort of royalty. The pomp and circumstance of old is being replaced with a more practical, realistic way of living.
