Community Christian Church to Launch in Lincoln Park | Old Town

CHICAGO - Sept. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Community Christian Church will soon call Chicago’s Lincoln Park | Old Town neighborhood ‘home,’ as it launches its newest campus with a Celebration Service on October 20 at 10:15 a.m. at Germania Place, 108 W. Germania Place, just south of North & Clark.  The non-denominational Christian church extends an open invitation to the entire community to attend.

“We’re thrilled to be joining such a vibrant, dynamic community,” says Eric Metcalf, Pastor of Community’s new LP|OT Campus.  “Even though we don’t officially launch until October 20th, we’ve already gotten very involved in our new community.  Community Christian Church in Lincoln Park | Old Town has taken a posture of serving the city we love.  With this posture in mind, we’ve met with several organizations over this last year to simply say: 'What is your greatest need and how can we help?'  The friends we’ve made have been incredibly welcoming, and we’re excited to already be making an impact here by partnering with other organizations.  I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

Metcalf and his team have been preparing to launch the new campus for well over a year.  During that time, they have met with local schools and non-profit organizations to learn about the issues and opportunities specific to the area and to engage in opportunities to serve their neighbors.

Community Christian Church has developed a reading and tutoring program at Prescott Elementary School, raised funds for a new washing machine at Lincoln Park Community Shelter, and hosted free barbeques at Larabee Apartments.  “Asking our neighbors how we can help has led us down a lot of interesting roads,” Metcalf adds.  “As we continue to grow, we will continue to reach out to help our neighbors in some really fun, creative ways.”
