JACKSON, Mich. - Sept. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The Lingap Children’s Foundation announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2013 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2013 Nonprofit,” says John Drake, founder and President of The Lingap Children’s Foundation, “and we’re very proud of all of our children’s accomplishments this year - especially the second college graduation of one of our original Lingap children, who arrived at our center at the age of five.  Additionally, we currently have 15 children in college and we have one in vocational school and four more heading that way.”

John further offered, “Six of our kids will be attending the prestigious public Science High School, which they achieved through their competitive test scores. Since there are only 40 children chosen each year, we are thrilled that six of them are Lingap children.  Finally, I am happy to report, that upon graduation, which we are confident will occur, their prize will be a fully paid college scholarship.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that The Lingap Children’s Foundation received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit and why others should get involved.  For example, one person wrote, “My wife and I have volunteered for the Lingap Children's Foundation for the last four years. Every year we love doing everything we can because we know 100% of our efforts directly impact the children. It is such a great organization that gives these children a new chance at living. Love everything about it!”

While the Top-Rated Awards run through the end of October, The Lingap Children’s Foundation was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the year.

“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with The Lingap Children’s Foundation have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization.  The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit.  This award is a form of recognition by the community.

About The Lingap Children’s Foundation

After safety and security, the ultimate goal and measure of the Lingap Center is the enhancement of the capacities of the poorest and the most vulnerable of Philippine society; their health and nutrition; their education and skills; their abilities to control their own lives and their future opportunities to earn a fair reward for their labors and their spiritual development.  The Lingap staff is dedicated to fulfilling this goal for as many of the children of the Philippines as possible through residential care services and community outreach, in an environment of unconditional love for the children and for each other as members of the Lingap family.
