Daytona Beach, FL – Dr. Carbiener, a maternal/child health advocate and seasoned obstetrics and gynecologist from Halifax OBGYN was honored this past Tuesday by Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare with a community leadership award.

The organization’s board of directors celebrated the agency’s 5-year anniversary along with more than 250 staff and community partners during their annual meeting at the Daytona Beach Resort Tuesday evening.  The CEO of SMA Chet Bell and Board Chair Rosaria Upchurch presented community leadership awards to Dr. Carbiener, David Abramowitz, Regional Administrator for the Florida Department of Children and Families, and District 19 State Representative Charles Van Zant (R – Palatka).

“I believe every unborn child should be able to have a healthy start in life,” said Dr. Carbiener. “We work closely with organizations that are helping us to reach this goal such as Project Warm, a program offered by SMA,” Dr. Carbiener added.
