The submission of Public Comments is particularly urgent for the GSA Schedule 75 Office Supplies and JanSan & MRO small business communities because the Schedule 75 contractors have experienced the damage which the FSSI has already caused for them, while the JanSan & MRO vendors will soon be affected when their FSSI is implemented in late November 2013. Many are not aware that the President's Management Advisory Board (PMAB) was the driving force behind the Mandatory implementation of FSSI. At their September 7, 2012 meeting, the PMAB issued a recommendation to Mandate FSSI across all Federal Agency spending. The OMB followed-up by declaring, in their December 5, 2012 OMB Memo on Federal Strategic Sourcing, a plan to implement this policy. "The President’s Management Advisory Board’s Strategic Sourcing Subcommittee suggested Sept. 7, 2012 that the administration should mandate the use of government wide strategic sourcing vehicles, where appropriate. Agencies should also set ambitious goals for creating and adopting the use of these contract vehicles." What can the Small Business Federal Contracting Community do to help Washington realize the damage that has already been caused, and will be caused, as Mandatory FSSI is implemented ? Yesterday it was the FSSI for Office Supplies, Today it is the FSSI for JanSan & MRO, Tomorrow it may be you. The PMAB meeting will be teleconferenced from 11am to 12:30pm. The meeting is open to the public using 1-888-673-9806 and pass code 7836092. Public Comments should be submitted by 12:30 p.m. EST on Friday, October 18, 2013, by either Email or Paper Statements. Emails should be addressed to Mr. Brockelman, Designated Federal Officer at stephen.brockelman@ All GSA Schedule Holders should submit a Public Comment which will be seen by each member of the PMAB. Let the PMAB know how damaging the FSSI has been for you, your employees, and the US Economy.
