Follow on Google News | BBS, Inc. Boston raised money for Operation Smile alongside the Dorchester community!BBS, Inc. Boston attended the Irish Heritage Festival in Dorchester, MA to raise money for Operation Smile.
By: BBS Inc. Boston This annual festival is a free family event created to celebrate Irish customs and traditions. The event brings together the local community by providing live entertainment, food and various activities. At the event, BBS, Inc. volunteers mingled with patrons while selling tickets for their charity raffle and collected additional donations for Operation Smile. Prior to the event BBS, Inc. was able to gather donations from several local restaurants for their charity raffle! The list of participants includes: Savin Hill Bar and Grill, The Blarney Stone, Blasi’s Cafe, dbar, McKenna’s Café, Scoops and Venezia Waterfront Restaurant. Each restaurant donated a gift certificate for the raffle, which benefited Operation Smile. The winner of the raffle received all seven of the donations, a value of almost three hundred dollars! In addition to the donated gift certificates, one local member of the community volunteered her time and services for free face painting, a value of $250.00! “The event this past Sunday at the Irish Heritage Festival was a huge success! We are so thankful to each of the seven local restaurants that participated in the event by donating gift certificates for the raffle winner. The McHugh family of Weymouth, MA was the lucky recipient of all seven of the gift certificates,” BBS, Inc. was able to raise a total of $695.00 for Operation Smile and gathered almost $300.00 in donated gift certificates for their raffle. Each year the company has a fund raising goal of $2000.00 for Operation Smile, after this last event they have surpassed that goal! In response to being asked about their fundraising goal, one member of the HR team stated, “It is so exciting for us to have not only reached our goal before the years end but we have now beat it! This last event was such a great turnout and was so much fun so we would like to thank everyone that came out and participated!
