Gourmet Cuisine and Award-Winning Chefs Highlight the Inaugural Savannah Food & Wine Festival

Nov. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- There will be something to suit the tastes of foodies throughout the coastal Georgia and Lowcountry region at the Savannah Food & Wine Festival, which takes place from Monday, Nov.11, through Sunday, Nov.17. This inaugural festival will feature a wide range of culinary events, and the Official Automotive Sponsor, Land Rover Hilton Head, encourages anyone who enjoys good food and fine wines to join in the celebration.

Connoisseur wine dinners, classes, demonstrations, seminars, a celebrity chef tour, a riverboat wine and dinner cruise, and the Jazz & Bubble Brunch are just a few of the exciting events planned during this festive seven-day event. Among the nationally acclaimed winemakers and chefs who will take part in the festivities are:

- Rob Mondavi Jr., of Michael Mondavi Family Estates
- James Beard Foundation award-winning chefs Chris Hastings, Steven Satterfield, and Elizabeth Terry
- Food Network star Linkie Marais
- Top Chef star Hugh Acheson
- James Beard Foundation award-winning authors, the Lee Brothers from Charleston

- Award-winning chefs Kent Rathbun from Dallas and Shaun Doty from Atlanta
- Tim Smith from the Discovery Channel’s Moonshiners

An expanded version of Taste of Savannah, scheduled for Nov. 16 at Ellis Square, will be the centerpiece of the festival. There will be something for everyone, including a Culinary Kids area, a Culinary Court, an Artisan Market, a Celebrity Chef Kitchen, a Cookbook Author Signing Tent, a Silent Auction, a Waiter’s Race, and a Bartender’s Challenge.

Venues include the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, Bethesda Academy, the historic Savannah Theater, The Mansion on Forsyth Park, and Sapphire Grill.
