PRLog -- 'The Devil Wears Red' is a new short from the creative minds of The Xpress Film Company. Fusing a non linear story following the Latino attorney, John Ramos (Monte Bezell), we are quickly thrown into the breaking point of a man wronged. Blinded by an accident while serving his country in Iraq, and mugged on his way home, John decides to take justice in his own hands. Not only is a man dealing with prejudices and a physical disability, but the breakdown of his psyche. This is the first of three shorts focused on minorities in film, collaborating with award-winning producer, Juan Caceres. The short itself is an idea from Ali Abouomar, showcasing that there is more to minorities than villains and terrorists. Layering the background with Hell's Kitchen, Red Hook, and TriBeca, gives the film a gritty realism that is rarely seen elsewhere.
'The Devil Wears Red' is helmed by Ali Abouomar, and stars Michael Ellian, Luba, Audrey Leonard, Freddy Figueroa, Omar Seginy, and Chris DiLeo. The gritty style of the film is highlighted by Miriam Brandt's production design.
