Follow on Google News | Indie Series Awards locks date and venue for West Coast debutHistoric theater in the NoHo Arts District to host awards ceremony
By: Indie Series Awards The Indie Series Awards, honoring the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web, first began in 2009. Doubling in size each year since inception, ISA5 will once again provide the backdrop for New Media creators to celebrate their accomplishments and those of their peers. “The El Portal Theatre has a long and storied history and I’m so excited to bring the Indie Series Awards to this extraordinary venue,” said Roger Newcomb, founder of We Love Soaps and the Indie Series Awards. “The space also offers us several new and fun possibilities for the ceremony, and there’s not a bad seat in the house.” Susan Bernhardt, ISA5 Producer added “As in years past, ISA5 is certain to be a memorable evening and amazing experience for everyone that attends. I'm so thrilled we secured El Portal Theatre as our venue which has literally served every platform. Seems fitting to host an awards show there honoring the best in the latest form of entertainment – New Media.” The ceremony will be hosted by Emmy-nominated actress, and Best-Selling author Carolyn Hennesy, star of General Hospital, True Blood, Cougar Town, and the upcoming indie web series Acting Dead. Any professional, independently produced scripted web series (drama or comedy) that released at least three NEW episodes between December 17, 2012 and December 31, 2013 may be submitted for the Indie Series Awards. Complete entry instructions are available at http://indieseriesawards.com. Tickets for ISA5 go on sale February 1st and will be sold through the El Portal Theatre box office. End
