By: Kurth Lampe Social activist, rapper and former Aldermanic candidate Che “Rhymefest” The show will discuss current events, serve as a platform for investigative reporting, take on the issues of the day and get Chicago talking. Che Rhymefest Smith ran for Alderman in the City of Chicago in 2011, and won a Grammy Award for co-writing Jesus Walks with Kanye West in 2005. He is currently nominated for another Grammy in best Rap Song category for co-writing of the Kanye West song “New Slaves.” Smith is also co-founder with Kanye West of Donda’s House, a non-profit named for West’s mother, which teaches arts development to Chicago youth.
