Award #6 for “GUTSY: How Women Leaders Make Change”

Interestingly, while the book was written for women in the workplace she has received emails and calls from men to say “thank you.” They are not only giving the book to colleagues often the book is a birthday gift for a wife and many daughters in college are getting the book sent to their dorms.

“GUTSY” and its companion “GUTSY Success Guide Book” outlines the foundational work that has given her so much success, including being on the “TODAY” Show with Hoda and Kathie Lee.

When asked about her experience with the book after attending the  GUTSY WOMEN WEEKEND http://www.ceoptions.com/#!gutsy-/c1aea, Joan Scharff who works at Lockheed Martin Leadership Association in New Jersey was delighted to share how willing she now is to take on more leadership projects at work and as a by-product her passion for writing poetry has already produced a book she is in the process of getting published.

She added that “Being with women who have to only take a step or two into their own passion really does light a fire under you to get going and get growing as Sylvia always says.”

Dr. Lafair has been a business consultant and leadership expert for 30 years and has watched the rise of women to places of power with delight. She has developed many tips and techniques to help women become GUTSY, or if already GUTSY, get even more so.

“Once you are GUTSY,” she says with great determination it becomes a daily practice. People will hang out with you, will follow you because they will not be able to look away. You become a shining star and you then can pay it forward and teach others to have what you have. That is what being GUTSY is all about.
